Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is recognized as one of six regional
associations that accredit public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the United States.

What Accreditation means for our students -

BCS meets and exceeds the University of California policy that requires all courses meet the a-g requirements.

Accreditation is required with respect to the Cal Grants.

Colleges and universities examine transcripts to determine if the students have attended accredited institutions.

Military recruiters expect applicants to be from accredited schools.

Insures that our students meet the requirements for acceptance into any school in the future.

"The greatest value of the WASC protocol is that it ensures equity and fairness to all students in all schools. Parents, teachers, staff members and students participate in a process that enables them to critically self examine their school plan, set their own goals and assess if their goals are reached for continuous improvement."

Susie Chow, WASC Commissioner, California Federation of Teachers
